On 21 March 2025, Muslim Sisters Youth Organisation (MUSYO) visited Muslim learners Chimutu Community day Secondary school in Lilongwe as part of its annual school mentorship program.  The visit was a continued interface sessions that the organisation and learners conduct routinely to mentor the learners, encourage them on their academic excellence and promote passion for education among them. The visit engaged about 21 students from all classes and included sessions such as academic discussions, mental health check-ins, peer to peer interactions and the Dream Board development-where MUSYO shared a template of their vision board to the learners and tasked them to use it as their guiding tool in their journey towards success.

Team Lead for Chimutu mentorship subgroup Sister Shakira Fulano expressed her happiness at the progress the learners were showcasing as there has been an increased participation in Muslim learners in the mentorship session stating this may pave way for more interest in MUSYO activities and eventually improved performance for the learners.

On their part, learners expressed enthusiasm on their performance improvement as the frequent engagements with MUSYO encouraged them and provided the role modelling most lacked in their homes.

In Lilongwe district, MUSYO conducts mentorship visits every term to Muslim learners in 11 secondary schools within Lilongwe reaching about 250 learners every academic term. The organisation is looking to expand its scope and hopes to reach more schools in the near future.
